Interesting read this, John, I've purchased a copy of The State of Grace for further study (and enjoyment) of course. Thanks for the heads up.

I go with, Prop on this one. In my experience, there's a big difference between the dull thud of pistol fire, the ear piercing crack of unsuppressed rifle fire (even the zip and whiz as it travels over your head) and the CHOOM! of a 20g gunshot ...

A foot pamper? Get you, Baz! What would your Grandad say. I worked out a couple of things in my sleep too, although not writing-related.

Of course, it could have been because I have an appointment this morning for a foot pamper. Such a luxury.

Thanks, Baz. Yes and no. It's one I wrote many years ago and also began writing book two which is unfinished as yet. Just taking another look at so it's getting its first airing, so to speak. Nothing to do with vampires but it does have elements of paranormal in it.

It is a very strange place, indeed Baz. But wonderful. Yet, in a sad way, a great part of me peaked when I left the ranks. And the Ghosts... Some day we'll have to tell each other our ghost stories. Go Easy Baz.

Your proper comp entry a proper story - especially loved the inside/outside brought by the rooks.
