by Weens 1 year agoHi, long time no see. How's the writing going? Any success with the book? I'm revising and rewriting mine like mad at the moment. Haven't seen you on here for ages, but if you are anything like me, you have to cut down the time on here to write. It's just too addictive. Hope you are OK.

by Polly 1 year agoHi. Your comments on first person narrative interested me. The odd thing is that I have NEVER written in first person before I started my first (just finished) book. I started it as a piece of free writing and the voice came out in first person... Now, I find with the second that the same thing has happenened. With the new one, however, I am intending to mix first and third person - do you think would work? Thanks for taking the time to comment on my piece, by the way. Feedback is vital.

by Polly 1 year agoHello, there. Interested to see people commenting on your 'Gods inc.' since I have just started a book featuring Lucifer and the Angel Gabriel! Was also interested in the gender genie - what is that? I am writing from a totally male perspective, which somehow seems natural for me - but - maybe using your gender genie I may find they come out not so male...?

by Caducean Whisks 1 year agoWaiting for agents can feel like waiting for Godot, except there's a slim chance Godot will appear eventually. No, some nice agents get back quickly - but if it goes on too long, it can be soul-destroying. Sympathies.

by Weens 1 year agoHi Chinch, Have you heard back from any of the agents yet? Haven't been around much lately, and I thought I might have missed any notification.

by Caducean Whisks 1 year agoChinch, sorry I never got back to you yesterday - thought I had, now it seems I hadn't (well, I did in my head - it's an age thing). Well done about the film man - you've really driven your novel forward and deserve all the success you can get. I've not submitted to agents in ages - licking my wounds and learning and editing instead. I've sent off a few things to mags and papers and been roundly ignored, except by the FT who sent me a very nice friendly "no" letter, which oddly cheered me up no end.
