    The Forever War, The Stand, The Gruffalo, Judge Dredd (comic strip 1977 to present), Watchmen, Charlotte's Web, Heroes (John Pilger), A Dozen Tough Jobs.

    Perfectly balanced

    Some self-editing
    Your ultimate writing ambition?
    To get published (then make enough money to stay in bed until 4pm every afternoon only to get up and spend the rest of the day in my pyjamas).
    Your worst habit?
    I spend way too much time as an agent of a shadowy global organisation that works to make the world a fluffier place.
    Your opinion on the books industry?
    I deeply respect the good folk of publishing

    Stevie As we leave 2017, I need to thank the April monthly comp. Just reached seventy thousand words on the WIP and I know the ending is going to come easy. An entire book from that little comp entry. Not too bad at all.

    Re competitions, 'subjective' has to be so, even though I was a bit disappointed not to have my Here & There story selected by the Scottish Arts Council, since it was set in Orkney and one of the best I did :(. Just have to try elsewhere. Orkney is where I am at the moment; passed through your neck of the woods yesterday, making a long trip from Bloody Scotland.
